I was treated for a minor injury and received very thorough, kind and sympathetic treatment. He put me at ease and left me feeling reassured about my injury.
My 12-year old son injured his right arm in a rugby match. Having broken the arm once before, and in sharp pain, we thought it necessary to have the arm looked to. On arrival at the JR Hospital, we were told that the waiting time would be 3 hours. Instead, my son was first assessed within 30 minutes of arriving, had a second assessment by Prof Bulstrode 20 minutes after that, and x-ray 20 minutes after that, and a final diagnosis when Prof Bulstrode was able to call up the x-ray and decided the arm was not broken. Throughout he talked the injury through with my son, with humour and kindness that gave my son total confidence in the doctor's judgement. What could have been a long and upsetting visit was 90 minutes in total and exemplary care. I understand that Prof Bulstrode came in on a Saturday to help keep waiting times down. If so, he is a hero to the NHS -- and to my family.
I thought that Dr Bulstrode was very helpful and told me and my parents all we needed to know.
Professor Bulstrode was very efficient listened and took my history, organised my care, checked my treatment and allowed a speedy discharge. I would like to thank him and his team.
