Mr.Shafiq operated on my mother's almost blind eye, whilst she was in her early 90's, giving her very good vision, allowing all sons and daughters to see her for the first time, without the need for glasses. Early this year (2020) Mr.Shafiq operated on my right eye, which suffered from astigmatism & cataract, installing a toric lens, which proved to be very well balanced with the vision of my left eye from day 1. Reading glasses not required now, and recent eye test passed without problem. Cataract developing in my left eye, so looks like I will be returning to Nuffield, to see Mr.Shafiq again.

I knew from the initial appointment that everything was going to be fine. The operation was painless, and the atmosphere in the theatre was happy and relaxed. For the first time for 75 years I am not wearing spectacles, which is amazing, but takes some getting used to! Very many thanks!

Very anxious about facing cataract removal, however, Mr Shafiq put me at ease and I knew at my first consultation that he would be the right person to undertake my surgery. He had a very understanding, caring and approachable manner and quickly assessed my needs and what would be his recommended plan to give me the best possible outcome. Surgery progressed without any problem and he reassured me throughout, it was completely painless and I had both eyes done, one two weeks after the other. Can now see better than ever without the need for specs other than for reading. Delighted by my positive experience in the excellent hands of this very accomplished professional.
