Dr Andy Nordin is 1 of the most brilliant doctors I've ever met (among several 100, that is). I could count on the fingers of one hand just how many doctors I've ever found to be as understanding, knowledgeable, professional, skilful & empathetic as Dr Nordin. The reason? - he puts his patients first, not the size of his wallet or his reputation. I have highly complex, rare medical conditions, but Dr Nordin took them all on board. He is of such brilliance that he could easily have chosen to be a top London doctor, but he chose to stay in East Kent, for which I am so grateful- I would have had to have surgery in London if he hadn't stayed nearby. I couldn't recommend him highly enough!

I went to Dr Nordin for a colposcopy followed by a loop cone biopsy. From the very first minute Dr Nordin took the time to explain every detail of the procedures to me, even drew a diagram so I could understand everything. During both procedures, felt so comfortable and him and his team of nurses at Chaucer hospital were outstanding. Stood next to me throughout the procedures and tried to keep me distracted. I feel so lucky to have been treated by such an exceptional doctor and team, who made the whole process not be as discomforting as expected.

Andy is amazing: down to earth, genuine, highly knowledgeable and empathetic. I felt completely supported under his care after being diagnosed with cervical cancer. The treatment (radical hysterectomy, ovaries and lymph nodes removal) was a lot to get my head around and I was thankful for Andy’s patience and considered responses. He has an appreciation for the psychological implications as well as the physiological for example, contacting me in advance of our next appointment as soon as the results of my PET scan came through to set my mind at ease, and performing open surgery with the smallest possible incision so the results weren’t too traumatic. As someone who likes to know the ‘why’ in order to understand the bigger picture I especially appreciated how thorough Andy is - thanks to his rounded knowledge, appreciation for the latest research, and attention to detail. In fact, I discussed his first follow up letter with a friend - the lead pain specialist nurse at the Royal Free Hospital - who commented: “brilliant, the most thorough and considerate follow up letter I’ve seen from a consultant”. I originally saw Andy as a private patient but had surgery under the NHS at the QEM as his NHS surgical list was actually quicker at the time - I appreciated having this option. If you have a gynaecological issue and you’re looking for a consultant in Kent, look no further. You’ll be thankful you found Andy.

I was really taken aback by the fantastic & totally outstanding care I received from Dr Nordin - I have never met a doctor of his calibre outside of London before, without any of the bigheaded-ness sometimes found there! The 1st gyneacologist I went to about my problems couldn't even work out why I had gone to see her, told me that, "of course, I don't understand all these other conditions you've got" (very confidence-boosting.... not), and promised an easy fix. Mr Nordin, in contrast, had a clear understanding of all my conditions and spent well over an hour in our 1st consultation explaining what treatment options I haf, and why. He went to great pains to make sure that every aspect of my health was considered for. When surgery was needed, he managed a tricky operation laparoscopically, an outcome I did not expect. Being an oncologist, he was also able to assure me there were no traces of cancer, even before the surgery. Very easy to contact, whenever I needed to. Quite simply, this is what I call Great Care - I would not hesitate to recommend this very kind man to anyone.

An amazing man who performed a difficult operation, by keyhole surgery, which has given me back my life. An outstanding professional. Truly inspirational. I am so pleased I was able to have him treat me. Only positives to say about Andy and his team.
