Mr Amar Alwitry

I proceeded to have a cataract operation with Mr Alwitry at Spire Hospital in March 2023 and Unfortunately, it left me with certain issues. However Mr Alwitry said the problem may be the lens implanted and he would IMMEDIATELY write to the lens supplier who were Johnson & Johnson. This gave us hope that the issues could be corrected. 2 In August 2023 at Woodthorpe hospital, I had my eyes examined by Mr Alwitry and he failed to mention that the eyedrops which were put in my pupil was cyclopentolate. Unfortunately, the next day my eye was still dilated, so I contacted Mr Alwitry’s office as I was very concerned and worried, as he failed to inform me that one of the side effects was that my pupils could remain dilated for up to 3 days. In fact, my eyes were dilated for 3 days and this resulted in 2 days of cancelled work appointments as I was not be insured legally to drive, nor could I adequately use my p.c for work and had to postpone 2 martial arts coaching sessions. I feel I should not have suffered emotional and financial distress due to Mr Alwitrys professional inability to inform me of the side effects of cyclopentolate. 3. At a further appointment on August 16th 2023 , Mr Alwitry categorically stated once again he was going to contact the lens Supplier, Johnson & Johnson to ascertain if the implanted lens was contributing to the cause of my eye issue. Giving us the impression that Johnson & Johnson had failed to reply to his previous correspondence in March. This gave us hope that the issues may be linked to a faulty lens A month later in September , some six months after my operation I ASKED FOR COPIES OF Mr Alwitry’s CORROSPONDENCE with the lens supplier. Mr Alwitry then CONCEEDED in an email THAT HE HAS NEVER written to Johnson & Johnson. How and why he made these statements over a 6-month period which misled me to believe that he had written to the lens supplier. However, since complaining to Mr Alwitry of his failure in writing to Johnson & Johnson, I believe he has now emailed them. In August Mr Alwitry repetitively praised himself 3 times by saying “I’m bl**dy great me”, unfortunately he’s also bl**dy great at misleading me too. Fortunately, I have an audio recording of the points mentioned. The reason for my audio recordings is one’s concentration and memory can be hindered with medical examinations due to the stress you are feeling and also due the complexity of the medical jargon used by consultants. He offered to pay for a second opinion and he will not respond to my correspondence where to send the invoice

I went to see Amar Alwitry for a consultation in Nottingham. I had struggled with long distance vision and the optician had diagnosed cataracts. Mr. Alwitry has a huge charisma and expertise. I had refractive/bilateral lasik in 2003 so besides removing both cataracts, it required enormous skill from Mr. Alwitry in selecting the lens for correcting my acuity of vision. Both procedures were entirely stress free, pain free and I felt that I had the best professional attention from Mr. Alwitry. He listened to my concerns and answered any questions. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Amar’s expertise and services.

Amazing results after being myopic all my life - cataract surgery by Amar Alwitry has truly changed the way I see life! Able to drive without specs for the first time ever and everything is so so clear! I do need specs for reading and close work now but to have excellent long vision is wonderful! I can wear lovely sun specs too after years of ugly prescription ones. He inspires such confidence and has a wonderful bedside manner which is so reassuring when facing such delicate surgery. Mr Alwitry was recommended to me by my optician. He performed 2 cataract operations for me. Both were very successful. I was terrified when I went for the first operation and anxious afterwards. Mr Alwitry listened to my fears and reassured me throughout the process. Like someone else said on the days of the operations I spent more time in pre-op than in surgery. The care I received at the Circle was outstanding. The day after the first operation when I took the bandage off I nearly cried. I could see every leaf on every tree and every brick in every building. I can’t ever remember being able to see so well in my entire life. Going out now is so much fun because at 68 I am no longer a girl that wears glasses. Although I do need glasses for reading and close work.

Hi went to Amar for help over a prior operation I had with another surgeon which I was unhappy with He was very sincere to my upset over this and recommended a completely different option which I had never heard of before called plasmage and I was over the moon with the end result I highly recommend Amar alwitry not only for his great work but also for being very caring and sincere

Mr Alwitry was recommended to me by a good friend, who he had operated on, so I felt reasonably relaxed beforehand. Right from the outset he put me at ease, explaining what would happen etc. I had cataract operations on both eyes and each operation was over in no time. In fact I spent more time, in a cubicle, waiting for the operations. I was able to carry out the aftercare on my own. I now no longer need glasses to improve my vision, over distance or for reading and close work. The difference is amazing as is Mr Alwity!

I lived in a foggy world. My life was restricted and lacking in colour. I couldn't read stories to my young grandchildren. I could only drive on roads which I knew really well. How fortunate you would be ,if like me ,Mr Alwitry said you were a suitable candidate for Eyemax lens surgery .For me his expertise has completely altered my life ? Now at 85 I can safely drive and so be excited by the world around me .It has been a miracle ,thank you

I went to see Mr Alwitry to see if he could help with my severe short sightedness. I am -12 in both eyes and have always relied on glasses and contact lenses. I was finding that the optician could not make me a pair of glasses suitable for driving in and contact lenses were making my eyes dry. Mr Alwitry put me at ease straight away and explained all options clearly. I was free to ask questions and make an informed decision.
