This consultant has been my worst nightmare. She operated on me to remove a fibroid. After the surgery I never saw her. She sent another colleague instead to check me and I was told that the operation was successful and they had removed the whole fibroid. A month later, I was back in the A & E with severe bleeding which led me to hospitalisation only to find out that the fibroid was still there! After this, she refused to take any responsibility and insisted that there has been a regrowth which based on the size of the fibroid and the short span of time (only 4 weeks since her operation) was unlikely. She failed to put me on emergency route for cancer patients. She failed to provide me with an appointment to fix the issue and was always out of reach. When I tried to reach her through her secretary with questions I was told to stop and not to bother. I was lucky that we were waiting to Cambridge where I received excellent care At Addenbrookes, I was seen promptly to rule out cancer and was then operated by a world-class surgeon who listened to me and treated me like a real person. Funnily, a year after my second surgery at Addenbrookes and 18 months after her failed surgery at Guy's, Dr Cloke called me to tell me I still have to wait longer on the waiting list!
