Miss Gumma was caring, pleasant and professional but best of all she was so gentle. I was clearly nervous before my appointment but she put me completely at ease. At each stage of the consultation and procedure she checked whether I had questions, then provided reassuring answers. I hope I don't need further treatment but if I did then I'd specifically request Miss Gumma. Thank you so much for your care today.

For years I have been plagued and my life ruled by heavy, painful periods every 14-16days. Finally last summer I was diagnosed with severe anaemia and referred to a Gynochologist. I chose the Fitzwilliam Hospital and was given an appointment with Miss Gumma. I was so nervous as my own GP had asked me if I thought everything was going on in my head when he had last seen me about my periods and it had left me feeling that no one would ever believe me but how wrong could I have been! Dr Gumma immediately made me feel at total ease and sat and listened to everything I told her( even through my tears!). I then had an appointment to have a hystrescopy which was performed at the Fitzwilliam by Dr Gumma under a general anaesthetic. I was so well looked after throughout the whole procedure. In the meantime I was still suffering with my awful periods which were getting worse. When I returned for my results I stressed to Dr Gumma that I had done lots of research into hysterectomies and I knew it was definatly the right choice for me. Dr Gumma explained what a big operation it was and fully checked it was what I wanted. After seeing how desperate I was now feeling about it she agreed to do it for me . I had my abdominal hysterectomy on 29/02/16 at the Fitzwilliam and I have never looked back! I've had a few issues with my healing but today at my six week check up with Dr Gumma she was pleased with my progress and I can honestly say I'm so eternally grateful to this wonderful, caring, lovely lady! Dr Gumma feels more like a great friend. I feel extremely lucky to have been referred to Dr Gumma and I will never forget how she has changed my life. I'm still recovering and still have a bit to go yet but I knew as I woke from my operation that my new life was about to start! There will never be enough words to express my thanks to Dr Gumma for giving me back my life.

Dr Gumm has always been a great help, never making you feel like anything is putting her out. She cared for us with our 1st child who had down syndrome, and continuously showed kindess and reassurance, but was still very professional. She also performed our daughters c-section which was down very well, ive had no problems since. We are very fortunate to have her for our 2nd baby who is due 18th may and we feel we are in the best hands.

I have been living with the effects of endometriosis for 12 years and although I had a procedure to remove some of the endometriosis this never made any difference to the heavy, painful and long periods I would experience every month, this really impacted on my ability to carry out normal day to day activities and 7 years after that procedure the pain had become unmanageable again, my periods were between 6 to 8 days long, very heavy, extremely painful and very clotty. I was referred to Mrs Gumma at The Fitzwilliam Hospital in Peterborough, from my first consultation I left the hospital feeling confident and hopeful my condition could be improved, following a diagnostic laparoscopy we discussed treatment options one of these being an endometrial ablation as I am only 36 Mrs Gumma was very reluctant to perform this procedure as it means you can no longer carry children although I was certain I do not wish to have children Mrs Gumma really made me take my time with this decision and really cared about making sure she was doing the best for me and I wasn’t making a mistake. After discussing all options available to me Mrs Gumma agreed to perform the endometrial ablation, this was now four months ago and I have seen a dramatic improvement to all of my symptoms although following this procedure 40% of women never have another period I was not fortunate enough to be in that number but my periods now last between three to four days, they are very light with no blood clots and I no longer experience the crippling period pains, this has improved my quality of life very much and I would recommend Mrs Gumma to any woman struggling with gynaecological issues
