Written by a patient at Southmead Hospital

Six years ago, I started to have a pain under my scapula diagnosed by Quentin Alsop (Neurosurgery at Southmead Hospital) as a trapped nerve at the 8th cervical vertebra. Only marginal relief could be given with Paracetamol and/or Tramadol. This pain was very distracting and it was dominating my life. In 2012 he referred me to Dr Verka Beric for a CT guided cervical injection. This gave pain relief which lasted for nearly 18 months. This was repeated in May 2016, again giving me good pain relief within 3 weeks of the injection. Dr Beric showed considerable empathy and she answered my questions in great detail. I have no hesitation in commending Dr Beric for this procedure. The pain relief has restored the enjoyment of my life.
