Dr Simon, Gollins is firstly a very nice person which as a patient facing a life threatening disease put me at ease and gave me a feeling of someone who cares . He also gave a feeling of being a medical professional that is at the top of his game that made me feel that I would have the best outcome .

I have been very privileged to be under the care of Dr Simon Gollins. By the time I saw him, I'd seen a sea of health professionals and had lots of information to digest. He takes time to understand the patient's experience of cancer and what is troubling to the patient. I felt that Dr Gollins would really fight my corner and get me the treatment I needed within an acceptable time frame. I felt very comfortable asking any questions and he took the time to explain. I did check out reviews before I met him and found the reviews to be accurate. Yes, his clinics overrun, but he does give the patient his full attention. I felt I could totally trust Simon from the first time I met him and I am sure that this trust really helped the efficacy of my treatment. He is very human and approachable. Simon made me and my husband feel involved with my treatment plan. My husband also felt listened to, involved and his concerns were listened to. We were treated as intellegent adults going through a tough time. He really made his mark when he said "I want to get you better, so you can get on and live your life". If you are very unfortunate to become ill, you will be very fortunate to have Dr Gollins as your doctor.

From the beginning of my journey into the oncology service, this Consultant showed a genuine caring and empathic attitude towards myself and my husband. No question was left unanswered. Time was spent with me, explaining everything. At no time did I feel rushed or uninvolved in my treatment. His clinics do tend to run over, but everyone knows that because he listens to the patient, no one comes out of the consultation feeling not in control. Everyone accepts there may be a delay, as we all know he will spend the necessary time with you to ensure you are at ease with what at the end of the day can be a very frightening process.

Dr Simon Gollins is an excellent Consultant who does listen to patients' concerns and allows as much time as it takes to inform patients of the situation
