Dr Savas Kourkouvelas

Mr Kourkouvelas carried out a total hip replacement 5 years ago at West Mid Hospital. I had an epidural, so was awake throughout. Absolutely brilliant! I was walking up and down stairs with the Physios a few hours after the op. Home by 7.30 the same day. He called me a few days after the op to see how I was doing. Obviously a big shout out to the rest of the team, all amazing. The anesthetist stayed at my 'head end' throughout, I think that If I had become distressed during the surgery she'd have put me out. As it happenened I was fine. I now need the other hip replacing and I hope Mr Kourkouvelas will be the surgeon.

Mr Kourkovelas operated on my teen son for a nasty broken leg recently. He has an honest no messing about manor but is still approachable. A comforting combination. We are more than happy with the standard of care we received from him and majority of NHS staff that we encountered during our stay and ongoing treatment.

the doctor did not examine my mother and there was no investigation based on what the physio has mentioned in their letter, he did not even get up from his seat to come and examine the feet the problem as soon as he heard of another illness he just went to his senior fellow and told him what he has diagnosed so he comes and say the same , lots of elderly are discriminatory assessed these days by hospital consultants and doctors it is crystal clear anyone over the age 0f 75+ will not be operated on etc
