Dr Perera took the time to get to know me, my medical background, examine me, make a diagnosis and talk me through her findings and diagnosis. She explained the medication I was to take and any potential side effects. I think Dr Perera is am excellent GP.

Her treatment of me over the years has been exemplary -m I even followed her from her previous practice. She always fills me with confidence even when delivering "bad news", is always courteous and friendly, and remains good-humoured even when seemingly over-stretched/ She is so popular that it proves very difficult to get an appointment to see her so I am not recommending her as it could then prove even more difficult with the present system for booking!!! For those of us who live a short distance from Goldsworth Park Health Centre this proves especially troublesome eg. this morning it took me over 30 mins. by car to York House instead of the usual 5 mins. at the most!.

I cannot praise Dr. Perara highly enough, her manner and efficiency are both excellent. She always takes care to listen and makes you feel like a person and not just a number. In my opinion it is unnecessary to suggest any improvements but instead would like to register my thanks.

Dr Perera listens to what you have to say and then takes the appropriate action, like initiating a comprehensive investigation or if she is familiar with the problem, providing treatment. Many doctors barely listen and often prescribe treatments for what they think is your problem without really listening to what you say...that is my experience over the years. She is also proactive in initiating regular blood tests to check on one's overall physical condition and this can turn up hidden problems. The best doctor I have had in recent years. 5star!

I received immediate and timely advice on my problem. The medicine prescribed functioned quickly. I felt there was total interest in my health wellbeing. I have no axe to grind, but my experience over more than ten years with the NHS has been exemplary. I am glad to have the opportunity to counteract criticisms in the media (I am sorry to have to single out the BBC but it is here I am unfortunate enough to get most of my news). There appear to be legions of reporters out on the streets looking for people to complain. No-one comes to people like me (or my wife) for an opinion. We get than what we deserve for what is a free (!!!!) service.
