When your life changes overnight due to a medical condition, no one can prepare you for the emotional roller coaster that is about to take place. You feel angry and confused and you see the fear in your loved ones eyes, you listen but don't always hear the words spoken in relation to your care. I lost my business and my home due to the tumour and several years of ongoing complications but through all of these dark days I was given the care of the most astonishing Consultant Neurologist, Dr Katia Cikurel and her team. Dr Cikurel will be the first to admit that without the full support of her team, she would not be able to carry out this incredible care. I am truly grateful to Dr Cikurel for always being there for me and my family, she does not just listen to you, she understands your pain and fears and does everything possible in her power to resolve any issues as quickly as humanly possible. I am truly blessed to have Dr Cikurel to guide and give me hope for the future. I consider myself very lucky that I am continuing to recover and I am able to now work, all of this has been enabled by Dr Cikurel. Thank you Dr Cikurel and your amazing team.

I am writing this review because I am the wife of one of Dr Cikurel's patients, my husband has been under Dr Cikurel's care for the last five years. Words, alone, cannot express my feelings of gratitude to this amazing lady. Dr Cikurel has not only cared medically for my husband but her emotional support for her patient and me has brought us through some of the darkest days in our married life. Dr Cikurel has always been our guardian angel, night and day. She has a heart of gold that provides care beyond all expectations. As we celebrate 70 years of the NHS and the unsung hero's, Dr Cikurel, we truly, believe is our unsung heroine. Thank you Dr. Cikurel from the bottom of our hearts.

I have been a patient of Dr. Katia Cikurel Nuero-Oncologist for 5 years now. I regularly see her in clinic due to living with an inoperable brain tumour. Right from the off I knew straight away that I’d met a fabulous doctor as there was just something different about Dr. Cikurel, that I had not come across before. She listened to all my problems along with some very bizarre and strange symptoms and came up with a plan of action straight away to try and help me live with the symptoms. The care, empathy and suppport Dr. Cikurel has shown me has been second to none and sometimes she had gone way above the call of duty to help me. Anything I ask or Dr. Cikurel to help make my situation more bearable is done without question. She has referred me only to the best under her care and I honestly believe if she could wave a magic wand and make me better she would have done long ago. As much and all as I resent living as I do I could not have got through these last 5 years without Dr. Cikurel care, help and support. If they ever gave out awards for the best doctor you could ever wish to meet or have look after you, then Dr. Cikurel would win every time without question. So I would like to take this time to thank Dr. Cikurel sincerely for all her help, support and understanding at what has been the hardest journey of my life. We certainly need a lot more Dr. Cikurel’s in the world and I feel so lucky and privileged that faith led me to her care. Dr. Cikurel you simply are the best and please don’t ever stop been you. You have me hope when no one else did. Thank You so so much. Your Amaxing.

I have been dealing with a neurological problem for over ten years and have never got to the bottom of it. Dr Cikurel left no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of it. I had every possible test - very quickly - and my meetings with her were illuminating and really thorough. She explained the results of the tests very clearly so that I understood them. We got to the bottom of the problem! Throughout she was super-professional, great with time (no hanging about for 6 months to get appointments with her or for tests). But almost more importantly she was kind, human, warm, friendly - despite what must be a huge workload. She was lovely! I would recommend Dr Cikurel unreservedly. And I honestly can't think of how she could improve to give greater care.

Dr Cikurel was part of the team looking after my dad within the last year of his life. When there felt like there was little hope left for him, she gave him and my family hope right up until his final days. Not only does she excel with her neurological expertise; she has a heart of gold. My dad would often ask me "have you spoken to your friend?" when he knew Dr Cikurel and I had spoken about his health situation. She was available out of office hours and in some of our darkest hours. For all that she did for my dad and my family, she holds a very special place in mine and my families heart. When my partner needed some neurological support a few months back, Dr Cikurel was the only neurologist I wanted her to see. Again, Dr Cikurel has gone beyond anything we could have wished for in terms of helping my partner. She has again given me comfort at a time of great worry and given my partner great reassurance and medical support through tests, examinations and all the care. Without a doubt, Dr Cikurel is one of the finest doctors I have ever dealt with and over my four and a bit decades on this planet, there have been A LOT. She's a credit to the NHS.
