This consultant wrote a very damaging letter to my doctor stating he’d ’assessed my fibromyalgia’ and asked me if I had ‘emotional problems’ and I said I did not. I went to him seeking blood tests to rule out lupus and sjogrens as I’d been very ill. His comments then directly influenced treatment from other doctors who decided I had ‘emotional problems’ despite the fact I said I didn’t. This was a very unprofessional remark to make in his letter. I only saw him briefly, we didn’t discuss fibromyalgia at all. I wasn’t there for that. I was polite and courteous and gave no indication of any ‘emotional problems’ but he obviously made a decision about me I can’t help feel was misogynist. I was subsequently diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia and peripheral neuropathy neither of which he considered or mentioned. I can’t recommend this consultant, he’s caused huge damage trying to get treatment going forward

I went to see Dr David after suffering joint pain which became extremely debilitating. He listened very carefully, gave me a thorough examination and diagnosed the problem immediately. He took time to talk me through the treatment options which I greatly valued.

Dr Joel David is everything a great doctor should be and I (as a doctor myself) can recommend him totally. My Mother was being mis-diagnosed and under-treated by her GP and local rheumatology specialist. They weren't even sure what was going on. She was scared and wondered if she would ever get back to full activity. She went to see Dr David and at the very first consultation he made the diagnosis no one else had, at that first visit immediately started expert treatment of powerful immunosuppressants and injected steroids. That was 2 years ago and he (and she!) has only got better with each review visit. Not only is he clinically excellent - but (and this is what my Mum particularly values) he is always kind, listening, understanding and really cares. Before seeing him she had trouble washing or making a meal - now she is is back to gardening and swimming.
