A year ago I was referred by my GP to the hospital following a possible TIA. It was Javed Imam that I saw that day and it was him who I saw on each subsequent visit. It was also him who phoned me on occasions during the year and finally it was him who discharged me today. In my view it is very beneficial to have the same doctor throughout, particularly one who is conscientious in his work (and who has a good knowledge of cricket!). Keep up the good work Javed

My wife, was seen by Dr Imam after she had a suspected TIA. The speed and level of care by Dr Imam and his colleagues was extremely impressive and very much appreciated. My wife's GP referred her to A & E, and, on arrival, she was immediately attended to by the efficient staff there, which continued with a nurse from the stroke ward. We felt very pleased with the various tests and attention to detail, and the "follow-up" tests which all occurred within a short space of time. Thankyou

I found that Dr Imam is very patient orientated, he listens to what you have to say and is very caring in his manner. He walked us to the CT unit and was chatting all the way last time we saw him back in December he actually wheeled my father in law from A & E to the stroke unit, I believe this is something that not all registrars do. All in all Dr Imam is a very good doctor and hope he has many good years within west Suffolk, he would be a loss to the stroke unit in my eyes

In January I was sent to the clinic at Bury St. Edmunds with a suspected TIA. Obviously I was very concerned but I was immediately put at ease by Dr Imam and his team and they couldn't have done more for me - blood tests, scans - the full works. Luckily it turned out that it wasn't a stroke and they referred me to another department, where it has now been resolved. Dr Imam is a friendly, jovial man with a very good memory - my wife was a visitor to the stroke ward a year ago, seeing her brother in law - and he remembered her! I have since seen him walking about in the hospital and he has always come over to me, asking how I was doing.
