Dr Maksoud listens and is very caring about patient health outcomes, not only on the physical side but also regarding the mental health considerations that often come with disease management. Dr Maksoud’s approach is holistic, taking into account all aspects of a patient’s life when organising treatment. A highly knowledgeable and experienced practitioner, with a calm and kind manner. Dr Maskoud is a fantastic consultant. He is extremely knowledgable, kind and patient focused. I was very lucky I was recommended to him when I became ill very quickly. His quick actions and expertise saved my life. My GP had the same blood results 2 days prior & wasn't overly concerned/understanding of what was happening. If I had waited any longer it would have been a different outcome. Dr Maksoud takes his time with each appointment and has always ensured I understood the why's and how regarding my treatment before leaving the room. The world of endocrine is so complex and difficult to understand, especially when you are new to it, but with his help I have been able to understand more of what was/is happening to my system, and how I go about improving both the health of my thyroid and immune system. He really focuses on patient-centred care and treats patients as a whole, not just by their symptoms. My treatment journey, compared to that of others I know of suffering with AI thyroid disease, has been well monitored, consistent, safe and uneventful. He has always had a close eye on my blood results and adjusted treatment accordingly and in a timely manner. I truely could not recommend Dr Maksoud enough.

I first met Dr Maksoud 20 years ago when I was admitted under his care in a life-threatening condition. I was struck then by his endless patience, concern for my health and well-being and also his ability to educate me as regards my life-changing diagnosis. Thanks to his excellent guidance, I have remained well since. I have attended many an Endocrine Dept. over the years and have yet to meet anyone with his depth of knowledge about a rare disease. I searched Hisham out again recently when my low thyroid levels were being dismissed, despite the added complications of Addisons Disease. A real “double whammy” making life intolerable. He listens - really listens to you. Unlike so many medics, he has a holistic, open-minded approach combined with profound, in-depth professional knowledge. He continues to be incredibly modest and gracious, whilst only wanting to make you as well as is possible. His ability to “fine-tune” the complexities of the endocrine system to maintain a good quality of life is such a precious skill. And much appreciated by myself! A marvellous man - I cannot speak too highly of him and recommend him without reserve. Nor can I ever thank him enough.

Dr. Maksoud was recommended to me by a friend when I had symptoms of overactive thyroid just over 3 years ago. After diagnosis by my GP, I started my care with Dr. Maksoud. He is an extremely kind doctor who fully involves me in the discussions we have. I have learnt so much from him about my condition and he has helped me recover by monitoring my blood tests very closely indeed. Dr. Maksoud's approach is holistic in that he considers all aspects of a patient's life to be important. He has advised me on other matters that have had an impact on my condition. I have always felt that I have had all the time I need in my clinic consultation. This was also the case recently when I had a telephone appointment with him. Just over a year after I was diagnosed with overactive thyroid, I was also diagnosed with cancer for the second time. I had to have very intense chemotherapy treatment and then a long recovery period. That treatment affected my thyroid situation but Dr. Maksoud was excellent in managing the changes that occurred and liaising with my cancer doctors at two different hospitals regarding a safer alternative drug that was necessary due to my very low immune system. I feel that I can talk to Dr. Maksoud about anything that is concerning me and know that he will listen and have advice for me. In summary, I know that I would not be where I am today without his care and am so glad to be so well because of it.

I have been a patient of Dr Maksoud since 2004. He diagnosed & successfully treated a long standing condition which dramatically improved the quality of my health. I continue to consult Dr Maksoud to maintain my heath & well being. He is an amazing Doctor.
