Miss Egbeare is a general surgeon with specialist interest in treating breast disease, especially breast cancer. Miss Egbeare qualified from University of Wales College of Medicine in 2002, accompanied by a first class honours degree in cellular and molecular pathology. She worked in South Wales and then on the South Coast of England as a junior doctor before completing higher surgical training in the South West of England, training with oncoplastic breast units in Exeter, Torbay, Cheltenham and Bath. She spent a year in South Australia in 2013, where she was the Breast, Endocrine and Surgical Oncology fellow at the Royal Adelaide Hospital for 12 months to gain additional experience to that in the NHS, especially in the fields of breast reconstruction and treatment of malignant melanomas. Miss Egbeare worked as a consultant surgeon at Frimley Park hospital in Surrey for a year before taking up her substantive post at the Cardiff Breast Unit at the University Hospital Llandough. She works at Breast Test Wales in addition to the Cardiff Breast Unit.
