I've been a patient of Dr P's at the Lister for over 5 years. He is knowledgable, and always kind towards me and my husband. He is honest and never holds back any information. Considering how busy he seems to be, he never hurried me in clinic. The patients in the waiting room always praise him. Oh and he has a great sense of humour. I'm a lucky lady to have him as my oncologist. Thanks you Dr P.

This Oncologist was disinterested in supporting my aunt with her diagnoses which was incurable, he showed no care or compassion and was extremely snappy if we had any questions. My aunt originally saw Dr Polychronis within the NHS, so when she was preparing to start palliative treatment privately we noticed that Dr Polychronis practices privately at the same clinic my mother started her treatment. It is safe to say that we scrolled straight past his consultant profile before selecting another Oncologist who was much more professional. My aunt continues her battle with stage 4 cancer - but without the terrible behaviour of the original Oncologist that she saw: Dr Polychronis. People deserves so much better and this doctor really needs to review the meaning of the hippocratic oath.

I have known Dr Polychronis for over 5 years, He says things exactly how they are, if you are wanting to be lied to then he is not the oncologist for you. He has a in depth knowledge in the field he practices, and has been working with many patients that he has helped keep alive for many years. He has a matter of fact way of communicating clinical information. Understandably this is not for everybody, however he is willing to try new treatments and is open to trying new things, he is not stuck to any particular dogma. If you want modern forward thinking treatment then he would be the Consultant for you. Additionally he is available for his patients when they need him a crucial times. Having cancer is obviously a deeply emotional thing, this can mean people put unrealistic expectations on what can be achieved. Dr Polychronis strikes the right balance between reality and hope. Just do not expect to told something that is not the truth.

I have been under Dr Polachronis for a number of months now. He has been very caring, a good listener and nothing has been too much trouble for him. He is very candid which is what i asked of him right from the start. He knows his oncology and always answers my questions in detail and in language i can understand. He has emailed me websites written for patients which have been very useful. He has always reassured me and when things didnt go so well, he was very quick in changing my treatment to control my cancer. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. He's a star.

Dr P is a great doctor. He made me feel at ease from day 1. Always with an optimistic smile, well informed oncologist. I am surprised to read other reviewers' comments! He runs very busy clinics at the Lister but that's not his fault. I've been having treatment for bowel cancer under his care for 3 years and would highly recommend him
