I love both Dr Child's and Dr Norman. When attending my surgery I specially ask for either one. Specially when I take my young daughter. The level of care provided and the time taken to listen and talk to me as a first time mum is above and beyond. I can not explain how much their constant support means to me.

Our family have all been patients of Dr Childs for over 23 years. In times of many and varied illnesses she has always treated us all with patience, courtesy, understanding and efficiency. The care we've had from her has always been excellent and we have always felt safe in the knowledge that she has great experience. Her diagnostic skills are excellent and consultants we have been referred to by her think highly of her. The practice, as a whole, gives a wonderful service from all the staff and the other doctors. We feel so lucky to be under their care, especially in these times of strain for the NHS and this practice always makes sure we get the care we need. It comes as a surprise to me that some patients use this website as a forum to take their rudeness further, as we have all witnessed people being very rude to the staff at times. It seems a shame that the Doctors and staff have no recourse to defend themselves against these rude and demanding patients.

Dr Childs has been treating our family for over 20 years. Over that time she has extended first rate care to all of us in all manner of different circumstances. She is professional and always helpful and we all think extremely highly of her. Tendington is a very middle class area, and as result, people are very difficult to satisfy and we often wonder how she copes with the demands of the local people - in spite of this she gives great care to everyone that we know locally.

Dr Childs was very kind and attentive, listened to what I said very patiently. She explained about precesses and made sure I made the right decision by providing ample information but letting me make my choice.

I called the surgery to make an appointment with my regular doctor who is not Dr Childs, I was told they were away and the only appointment in the time frame I needed it was with Dr Childs. I hadn't seen her before so had no view on her. After all that I did know when the appointment was and I noted in my diary immediately. When I arrived for the appointment I was told by the receptionist that it was two hours earlier than I had arrived. I questioned this and they insisted that they were right and I was wrong. I asked if Dr Childs was in and was told she was. I asked the receptionist to ask Dr Childs if it was possible that she would see me as I was sure I had the timing right. Reluctantly the receptionist agreed. I heard her speak to Dr Childs who was doing some work in her room. She refused point blank to see me as she was now finished her surgery and she had 'other things to do'. So no possibility that the receptionists were wrong could be entertained and there was not a drop of goodwill from Dr Childs for the mistake of her team. It must be marvellous to work at Thameside, they are always right and everyone else is wrong. That sort of arrogance is dangerous.
