This review a is about Dr Ashish Gupta specialist at Epsom hospital. I had an ulcer and it had to be taken out but because of my heart condition general anaesthesia was ruled out. Epidural was considered and even that was risky according to the anaesthetic consultant. I was referred to my cardiology and respiratory consultants for tests and reports on the feasibility. All four consultants were to have a meeting to finalise the best course of action. One week before that, I had an out patient appointment with Dr Ashish Gupta During the clinic he went through my medication again and suggested that the cause of the ulcer may be due to one of the medicines I was taking at that time. He wanted me to stop it immediately. Luckily for us my consultant cardiologist Dr Bajpai was present in the hospital at that time. Dr Gupta went out of the way to go and meet him to discuss his suggestion, came back and asked me to stop that particular medicine which was later reinforced by Dr Bajpai. The ulcer I had has vanished now and I was discharged by Dr Gupta with this very good news on Thursday 15th of June 2023. This excellent “out of the box” thinking by Dr Ashish Gupta has cleared all my anxiety, stress and trauma I experienced thinking about the operation.
