Amazing service from start to finish with a long aftercare service and a Facebook group for continued support and guidance. From the first point of contact with Jade, who was very helpful and always came back to me with questions I had. Right through to the after surgery phone calls from the tonic nurse and tonic team with help all the way through. Mr Awad has been truly amazing throughout I couldn't have asked for a better or different surgeon. I would recommend him and the tonic team to anyone who is considering weight loss surgery. Thank you all for your help on my journey to becoming a healthier and happier person.

As I've been struggling with weightloss my whole life, I really found myself at a point where I need medical help to get my overcome it. I have tried so many diets and had so many gym memberships and courses, yet the weight will always come back and gradually increase year by year. I didn't know what else to do and I really felt hopeless. It was at this time that I discovered tonic weight loss surgery and VSG. I have seen many social media accounts talking about how much their life has changed after this surgery and the fact that the weight actually stayed off. Their stories about their struggle with weightloss has really resonated with me and seeing their results has encouraged me to look into this surgery as an option. I've spent many months doing my research about VSG and it's pros and cons. I was amazed to find that this surgery is very popular and they results can truly be life changing. It really gave me hope for a better future, where I can look and feel healthy, not just physically but mentally. After covid lockdown, I was mentally down to the point where I would not want to meet people because of my weight. I was really ashamed of myself. I didn't want to feel like this anymore so I gave tonic a call. I was immediately scheduled for a consultation with an available doctor but I told myself, if I'm taking a big loan for this surgery, I want to at least choose my doctor. So I've done my research online and I saw a lot of videos of Dr. Sherif Awad on YouTube explaining the different weightloss surgeries. He gave a good understanding of what each surgery is and it confirmed to me that choosing VSG was the right choice for me. After watching the different videos of Mr. Awad online and hearing his name being positively mentioned on social media, I really wanted him to be my surgeon. He has such a great reputation and so I felt safer under his expertise. I called tonic and asked for my doctor to be changed and they were happy to do that. As I wanted to have my surgery as soon as possible, the tonic team and Mr. Awad have been very kind to schedule my consultation at short notice. The consultation with Mr. Awad was thorough and he has assured me that my choice for VSG was the correct choice. He also provided me with a very detailed video on the different weightloss surgeries so I can watch and ask if I had any questions. After the consultation, I felt confident to go ahead with booking my surgery date. This was done very quickly and the tonic team has scheduled for me all my pre-op calls and appointments. Everything was processed swiftly and I was ready for my surgery. On the surgery day, I was nervous, as everybody usually is. I was with a group of lovely girls scheduled for surgery that day so it was lovely to chat and talk about our hopes from this surgery. We saw Mr. Awad and the Anaesthetist in the morning and that put us at ease. The hospital staff were so lovely and everybody was accomodating. I felt like I was in good hands. I had my own room and toilet/shower area. My surgery was just before lunch and everything went by very quickly. Before I knew it, I woke up and my surgery was over. The first hour or so after surgery, I was very disoriented but the nurses were very helpful with everything that I needed. The first day after surgery was difficult and painful (from the gas) but I was so thankful I was being looked after by the nurses. They helped give me my meds and ensured I wasn't in too much pain. I am very thankful for the nurses team that looked after us that day! The next morning, Mr. Awad visited us to talk to us individually about how our surgery went. Mr. Awad was lovely and assured me that I will be ok to go home that day. The team ensured I had everything I needed to leave the hospital and helped me carry my bags out to reception. From there, everything is history! My post-op journey has been typical. The first week was the hardest and it really made me question why I did this to myself. But it got easier as the weeks went on. I just had to follow my doctor's advice with my nutrition and food intake. It was a rough few weeks but now I'm close to 6 months post op and I've lost 23kgs (3.6 stone or 50.7 pounds)! It was one of the best decisions I've made in my life and I feel like a different person. My confidence has increased so much and I actually enjoy going out to see people now. I love going clothes shopping because everything looks better on me and I can wear sizes I've only dreamed about wearing before. I still have more weight to lose but seeing how I have drastically changed I'm 6 months is unbelievable. This surgery has been a blessing and I feel like I have my health under control. I am very thankful to tonic, Mr Awad and his team!

I decided to go with Tonic at the Pines Hospital in Manchester because their pre and post operation and aftercare package looked really good, and I definitely have not been disappointed. From my first enquiry call to Cat their admin manager at head office, to the treatment and aftercare I received at The Pines was excellent. All the staff are very genuine caring people who looked after me so well. Mary and Cheryl took great care of me on admission and post op. Rachel and Diane gave me excellent care over night and Amy the ward sister was fantastic up to my discharge. I can't thank them enough for looking after me so well. Would 100% recommend.

I had been pondering and researching having surgery for some time. After deciding on remaining in the UK for Gastric sleeve surgery I enquired with tonic. Jade contacted me and from the first contact was amazing, quick and timely responses nothing was too much trouble, I then had an initial call Mr Awad who was knowledgeable, precise and straight to the point but caring with it. I had all this information and knew I would be in great hands so booked the surgery for 5 weeks time at Burcott Hall. Pre op was fantastic and concise with thorough testing that took place, I had telephone calls with the dietician and psychotherapist too all absolutely fantastic. Surgery day- from seeing Mr Awad, anesthetist to be taken to my private room was all relaxed and I felt great. The staff on the ward- the nursing staff were like angels, the care and compassion they gave to me to ease my anxieties and then post surgery to make me as comfortable as possible was second to none. I'll never forget the way they made me feel Post surgery- the aftercare team checked in regularly, Debbie my allocated nurse was on hand daily with calls and I was able to contact her when I needed. I'm now 11 weeks post surgery, I've had regular contact with the aftercare team who have even amazing. Harry the PT who has helped with getting me physically active, being part of the online forum is also a great benefit but my heart belongs to Mr Awad and his team who performed the op and gave me my life back. 3 stone 2lb lost forever, more energy and zest for life. My only regret is that I didn't do it years ago I'll be eternally grateful and have 3 friends that have booked or had surgery since on my recommendation and are equally happy.

I am 1 week post op. I’m very pleased with the support from Tonic from my very first telephone call through to the contact with the team of nurses, dietician, psychotherapist, and exercise coach. I’m very early on in my journey however I couldn’t fault the care and treatment I have had so far.
