Mrs Funmi Odofin

Funmi is an amazing physiotherapist. She was kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable. She was able to provide me with exercises to vastly improve urinary incontinence.

I feel I’m back in charge of my body and it only takes exercises . I felt very happy with my treatment and everything was explained, also I needed a stool by my toilet to stop straining when passing a bowel motion at first I thought this strange but it’s a must . Before I was making the problem worst and this piece of equipment has made me comfortable. I wish I had known about Funmi when I was younger and this was beginning to be a problem , I don’t think you can start to early in life . I have learnt to listen to my body which has been the best advice.

Following a diagnosis from a specialist gynaecologist, I followed her recommendation to see Mrs Funmi Odofin. She helped beyond measure with her professionalism and attention to detail. Her skills in talking about THE most sensitive subjects and the following assistance with methods of dealing with these on a day to day basis has restored my sense of a positive and manageable future. I was referred to Funmi by a local Specialist Physio to find out if there was any pessary that would work for me. Due to nightmare transport difficulties I arrived late, Funmi was kind enough to fit me in and listened to my concerns. After examination I discovered that I had a grade 3/4 prolapse. I was given exercises and shown how to do them. She also diagnosed me to have Vagina Atrophy. A letter from Funmi was brilliant in obtaining the special cream I needed which is already making a difference. In addition, as a result of her letter, I have now been referred to a specialist team as I understand surgery will be needed. I am doing the exercises and doing everything I can to ensure I help myself get fitter so that there is a greater chance of the surgery being a success. I am so pleased I visited the Clinic - lovely setting where you are made to feel welcome. A special thank you too to Roxy on Reception who was so helpful when I contacted the Clinic when I realised I was running late.

I cannot recommend Funmi highly enough. Following a distressing incontinence incident I was referred to Funmi who listened carefully and compassionately and suggested possible issues with diet and my pelvic floor muscles. She was instantly reassuring and incredibly easy to talk to. She had immediate suggestions and longer term solutions and with her help and support I have had not had a repeat incident. I have told all my friends about her as I feel she has given me my life back. She has patiently taught me how to do pelvic floor exercises correctly and effectively (not as easy as it sounds!) and her diet advice was spot on.

I was recommended to see Funmi by my surgeon pre and post surgery as she told me I needed to get my pelvic floor in tip condition as it would help make my surgery a success. Having now been I would say every woman should see a pelvic physio as I now know where my pelvic floor is and wasn’t where I thought it was! I have spent years sucking in my abdominals not pelvic floor! Funmi spent time helping me locate my pelvic floor, gave me exercises to strengthen it and checked my progress. She tailored this all to my needs and ability and has helped me to make pelvic floor exercises part of my daily routine. Funmi also advised me on other things I could do to assist me in my recovery. I am so glad I went to see Funmi as I now feel equipped to go forward in my recovery and safely get back to exercise and daily life.
