Mr Jonathan Lewis

Jonathan Lewis, BSc, MCSP, SRP Jonathan is a physiotherapist with a less conventional approach to recovery, rehabilitation, movement and injury prevention. Jonathan believes understanding your own movement "style" then working to improve your accuracy and fluidity of movement provides the strongest foundation to achieve your physical goals and also that your movement habits play a significant part in mental and emotional well being. This understanding means movement quality, breathing and mindfulness are emphasised in all the physical activities of a session. So whether learning mobility practices or bodyweight training, working with kettlebells or CrossCore 180, or exploring a diverse range of day to day postures, your active observation is encouraged for maximum benefit. This emphasis is also required when the intention is physical recovery and regeneration using manual soft tissue techniques or using TP Therapy and Grid tools - the use of which Jonathan teaches. Once the need for good movement is understood and practiced training with intensity (whether for strength, speed, power, endurance, flexibility etc), is far more effective. Jonathan's philosophy and strong belief in empowerment ensures clients have the opportunity to develop their resilience and expand knowledge to maintain their own health and well being. Jonathan is one of Balance Performance's founders and directors. He has over twenty five years experience in performance, strength and conditioning since beginning service as a Royal Marine Commando in 1989, and has been practicing as a physiotherapist, strength, conditioning and movement coach since 1996.
