My partner and I had appointments at Cathedral Square branch of Boots Opticians. I am a disabled lady who finds getting anywhere difficult enough, but our bus service at times is less than satisfactory. We left home in plenty of time, but the bus, which should be every 10 mins took almost an hour, meaning we were running late. The person I dealt with, even though I explained why I was late, was rude and abrupt, and made no attempt to try and deal with my sight test in that instance, even though they still saw my partner, and did his eye test. I have now got to wait 2 more weeks, and get myself into the city centre by bus again, in order to get my eyes checked. I walk with a cane as I have limited mobility, so I try to avoid extra trips into the city centre. The assistant who was rude to me, then made my partners follow up appointment, to collect his glasses, for a day 3 days away from the appointment she made for me, meaning yet another trip into the city centre. I have used that opticians for many man years, before it was even Boots, and this experience her totally upset me and diminished my faith in their customer service. I hope that when I do attend my appointment on October 4th I will not have to deal with her!
