Boots Opticians were great with my eye test appointment resulting in the necessity of glasses. Two weeks after my eye test, I revisited the Boots Opticians and duly purchased a pair of glasses, which cost £340. The following day, I received a letter from Boots (as a follow up to my eye test) with a voucher for £30 off if I spent £90 or more on a complete pair of glasses! I contacted Boots Customer Care' to enquire if it would be possible for me to use of this voucher to get the £30 discount when I collected the glasses (given the extremely high price I had paid, the day before, for a pair of glasses from Boots) and received the following response: "Unfortunately, this is not something we are able to honour from Head Office. Honouring the voucher retrospectively to the purchase being made would be at the Store Manager’s discretion as the Terms and Conditions state it must be present at the time of purchase. Please be advised the Store Managers decision cannot be overridden" This clearly demonstrates how Boots Customer Care is somewhat lacking in any kind of care whether or not they retain loyal Boots customers.
