I found my appt extremely stressful, I was advised to contact my eye clinic to make an appt to see my consultant asap. I asked if I needed to be worried and he said yes I did. I am a type 1 diabetic and have suffered eye problems in the past and undergone Laser treatment and cataracts in both eyes. My eyes have been settled and have not had to have treatment since 1995 I have been told that if i have another bleed there may not be anything that can be done, so to be told I needed to be worried was very upsetting. I insisted that I needed to be seen at the hospital and had an appt 2 days later. after a full examination my consultant advised me that all was good and remained settled and did not know what the problem was. whilst I do appreciate your optician was possible acting in my best interests i spent 2 evenings and almost 3 days very tearful thinking that I was possible going to loose my sight.
