As you see the television advert for Macmillan Nurses saying how wonderful they are, I always thought what they do to warrant that statement. To have seen this first hand is remarkable. To see Consultant and Nurse working closely together and share the treatment and understanding in looking after my Husband is unbelievable. When your appointment is finished and you are left alone with your Nurse, your brain is confused and muddled with questions galore. This is the part where the calmness, kindness and magic comes from your Macmillan Nurses. In our case it's Katie Wass. After the shock of Brian's diagnosis and with Katie's help we will carry on and overcome the enormous problem together. We could not have picked a more understanding Nurse.
