Karen's stoma support was vital to me following a complex surgery/surgical error and ongoing difficulties with my stoma management. Throughout all the contact I had with Karen, she was consistently respectful, supportive and caring; she allowed me to feel like 'I mattered'. I trusted that she would 'stay the course', and help me to find a way to resolve, what was becoming a very difficult problem. I feel that her vast clinical experience, her calm manner and especially her humour helped me through a difficult and quite traumatic time.
