a minute agoNEW My son was involved in an RTA in Costa Rica, he has an horrific leg wound. This was treated by a wound clean every 2-3 days to keep infection at bay in Costa rica & he was due for a skin graft on awed 11/4. The day before the graft was to take place he was transferred to York. He was transferred by air ambulance to York hospital on 12/4 after the ins company liased with York hospital about his arrival. He arrived on 13/4 with York saying they were not aware of his arrival, had no knowledge of his injury and no information of his treatment. He was put on a ward & told he would have a clean out op today 16/4, then told the op would not take place. The Dr then visited to say he would "put his case forward for an op 17/4 but was not promising", as if getting an operation was some sort of talent audition. His wound has now not been cleaned for 7 days
