My mother was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer on July 31st 2018, and was informed that there was nothing that could be done to save her, our family were left devastated by this shocking news, our world collapsed. We decided to seek a second opinion from another doctor at another hospital, we were extremely lucky to find Mr Andrew Baker, who specialises in Upper GI Surgery, including Oesophagus - Gastric Cancer Management and is based at Wrexham hospital. Without delay, Mr Andrew Baker acknowledged our request for a second opinion and arranged the relevant tests required for the investigation of my mother's terminal cancer diagnosis. His thorough and competent investigation concluded that my mother's stomach cancer was in fact, still operable. In November 2018, Mr Andrew Baker and his excellent surgical team performed a total Gastrectomy, saving my mother's life. A BIG SPECIAL THANK YOU to our hero Mr Andrew Baker, also a BIG THANK YOU to Specialist Nurse Michelle, the Surgical Team and Staff on the Critical Care Unit.
