Arrived at 12.18 with my 15yo son, straight onto the children’s ward as letter from GP and they had agreed to see him . First set of observations were done straight away then It was 4 hours before anyone came back round. No offer of water or pain medication throughout the 8 hours we were here! Student asked questions, then an hour later a doctor asked the same questions and examined him, she said she needed to speak to a senior. She then came to us and said they were Doing handover which would take 30/40 minutes and a different doctor would be round to see him. 18.20 I asked a passing nurse if there was any news on when he would be seen. She said oh, took a look in his file and walked away. Said absolutely nothing else. Where as I fully appreciate NHS and their staff are under Immense pressure I witnessed several members of staff throughout the day having “Coffee breaks”. The nicest one was the HCA who offered my son some food! It was another 1.5 hour wait before a doctor came and at this point my Son just wanted to go home for a hot bath and to his own bed, not To mention some painkillers. I’m afraid Our NHS is a complete loss
