Admitted to Emergency Floor where I stayed for 2 days. A number of elderly, confused patients were in situ but the absence of any compassion/patience by staff really appalled me with arrogance & disregard appearing to be comon traits in medical, nursing & domestic staff.Ignoring buzzers & calls by patients to either use or be removed from commodes.Food served up & left on trays.Unfortunately one elderly lady passed away without anybody noticing. Doctors & consultants appearing without introducing/identifying themselves to patients;contradicting previous diagnoses ;unable to say when MRIs wil be carried out;discharge letters only partially completed. Corridors & pedestrian areas cluttered with trolleys & drip stands obstructing safe movement. Relaxation of mask wearing & covid protocols has obviously increased infection rate hence reinstatement on 7 July. Much was made publicly when this unit was opened but after several years the deterioration is quite apparent.
