Awful experience. Disinterested, lazy, unenthusiastic nurses. A room full of people, most with a slight air of desperation. Questionable triage by supposedly 'qualified' nurses e.g. Able bodied and unworried looking fit young adult males seen within 15 minutes whilst I saw visibly ill young children and old people sat in excess of three hours. A nurse (one of three) would appear about once every 30 minutes and call someone by name. One nurse sounded politely neutral. Two nurses sounded completely unenthused to the extent of rudeness. No sense of urgency. No sense of respect for public/patients. Nothing but negativity. If this is what the NHS is employing now I understand why wages are going down, not up, in real terms. There was no one in charge. No work ethic. No system - other than the "lip-service" triage. I have never experienced such a woeful service from the NHS and literally had to leave (without being seen after wasting more than three hours because I had an afternoon commitment), politely concealing my disgust. What an utter waste of a Sunday morning. It would have taken less than ten minutes to diagnose and prescribe me an antibiotic.
