11th January 2023

My first audiology appointment was just before Christmas arranged through the GP following discussion with the ENT department. The first audio gram was conducted quickly, efficiently and with good explanation. The follow up appointment I had been told of by my GP was for the 5th January. Unfortunately she had made a mistake with the date and I arrived one day early. Despite this the audiologist fitted me into the clinic and gave me a full test and detailed explanation as to what the results showed. He gave me all the time I needed to understand what had happened and why I had the hearing loss. I cannot thank you enough for such a good service.

Suggested improvements
The only problem arose when I tried to confirm the follow up appointment and I did not understand that the East Berkshire computer cannot talk to EPIC and so there was no record of my appointment showing on EPIC. I didn’t realise I should have checked through King Edward Hospital. This was a minor problem as everyone was so helpful and obliging in order to get me seen and not make an unnecessary extra journey the next day.
