I found the staff on the ward did their best and came more or less when they were wanted, though i could have done with more information about when i was going to have my operation. Having arrived as requested @ 7.00am i then waited until 11.00 until having to ask when my op was scheduled for and then being told about 2.00, though in fact it was about 1 hour later. I realise the difficulties in knowing exactly when the op will be, but i think i could have been informed about the delay as waiting such a long time without information is very stressful + i was very dehydrated by the tme I went because of not being able to drink anything other than sips of water & then nothing at all after the aneasthetist saw me around 1.00 I also disliked the use of bays in what really amounts to a mixed ward, although everyone in each bay is the same sex, the bathroom facilities are shared for all intents and purposes and the area could be viewed from various patients beds - hardly respecting peoples privacy when they are ill and old and unable to deal with gaping gowns etc.
