My mother got acute renal failure on Marble Hill Ward in this hospital due to very poor nursing care and a lack of medical staff at the week ends. She was unconscious and unresponsive for at least five hours and sent for a brain scan. Even so I had to beg for her to be sent after that to a ward with medical staff available. Staff on Marble Hill wanted to close the curtains and leave her be while IV fluids and antibiotics did their job - or not. Family were told to 'go and get a cup of tea or something'. Very disturbing experience.
