My experience of Watford General was excellent. Over the last ten months I have had two surgeries and have been taken back into hospital on two occasions The A&E department is extremely busy yet they have found a bed for me and prompt attentive care. On one occasion I was taken back in to the emergency assessment unit. On arriving at the hospital I was struggling to walk the distance to the ECU and a nurse stopped to help me. She was nothing to do with me but she attended me the whole way and then ensure I arrived at my bed. Five days later when I was in a different ward and shortly before being released later in the day she turned up at my bedside to check I was OK before starting her shift. I have nothing but praise for all the nursing staff who all work in teams and no job is too small to help out their colleagues regardless of seniority. It is a shame that some patients become abusive although this probably can be partly excused by their illnesses. Again the nursing staff do not react. I am afraid that I have no criticsm or matters I can recommend for improvement.
