On discharge from Warwick Hospital previous weekend I was given blood test forms and told by ward staff to attend phlebotomy any time during opening hours for follow up blood tests. On arrival at phlebotomy 3/2/23 I presented to outpatients reception and was told I would not be able to have the blood taken as I did not have an appointment, and that I would have to log in to the hospital site to book and appointment. There were no appointments on the online system until 6/3/23, thus delaying my blood test and wasting my journey on 3/2/23. Only once I had physically attended outpatients was I informed of the need to book (and the system for booking) a phlebotomy appointment. The staff member on reception attempted to book me an appointment for 6/3/23 but this did not work. When I logged in to SwiftQueue myself at home no such appointment was on the system. I had to book myself an appointment using SwiftQueue. My wasted journey to Warwick hospital and the delay to my blood test could have been prevented if ward staff (or anyone issuing the blood test forms) had informed me of the need to book and the system for doing so.
Can’t fault the service from start to finish. Considering was Boxing Day too , my mum (almost 99) was treated with the help and kindness she deserves. Thank you
my appointment was on time and the treatment/advise I was given was excellent and explained really well, Katherine was really lovely.
With all the bad publicity .. I was amazed how it was a painless sorry for the pun experience
Care was excellent. All staff worked very hard and made sure daresay all ti m e was above average
My wife was brought in by ambulance at 5am on 19th Jan and taken to ambulance triage. At 5.30 she was moved to "Fit to sit". At 6am I was told to leave because "the manager will be in soon and won't be happy" if relatives are there. The pain which was the reason for admission returned, and although pain relief was offered it was never given. The last offer changed to "you'll have to wait until you're on the ward". My wife was in the same chair, with minimal information and no treatment, for 6 hours. The pain of her condition worsened throughout that time, and was even worse because of having to sit up in a wooden chair, and not even lie down. The pain returned three days later, after discharge, and she was afraid to return, instead hanging on hoping Ambulatory would see us the next day, which they kindly did.
Care was outstanding.
Great staff, put me at ease.
Nothing was too much, Dr + nurses were all fantastic and work so hard.
