As I am having chemo all the staff kept me safe and reassured at all times.
Nav (who was on her first day there) and Keely were very caring and looked after myself and my husband.
The whole department worked very well on Sunday and all staff very pleasant.
Really tentative staff who were kind, caring and helpful.
Great service
The team at minor injuries were quick and efficient with my care
Everyone I have been in contact with has been very caring. I have some concerns. I broke my arm very badly and had to wait for painkillers for several hours in the waiting room. We managed to find something in our car to support the arm. It would be helpful if someone could assist in the waiting room, since the wait lasts for several hours.
I am now waiting for my operation. It has been postponed three times. Apparently, there is a two week window for operating a bad break. It feels awful to have to wait so long with a painful and badly broken arm. I am booked in for this Friday (the 10th day). At this point I have started to wonder if that will be postponed as well.
Apologies for complaining when everyone I have been in contact with has been so kind. This situation feels very difficult and not right.
Best regards,
Malin Steed
I had a good experience
I spent 6 hours in A&E ( Primary Care GP ) The treating GP was thorough & professional, however I did not get a satisfactory outcome. I was referred to surgeons for a definitive diagnosis. I was handed over to another GP ( original GP completed their shift ) who was lax in delivering care as I was sent home with pain relief only & no anti biotics. I felt sick after a 6 hr wait and will be returning to A&E for acute abdo pains not resolved. Feeling unwell still and disappointed that I did not get the best outcome.
Overall I was very happy with my experience considering it was a Saturday night in a hospital waiting room and I’d broken my leg.
One minor dissatisfaction was that when I presented myself at A&E the admin on the desk told my wife and I that I needed to go to minor injuries around the corner. This would have been fine, however that assessment was done before I’d even made it to her desk. She did however offer us the use of a wheelchair from the entrance, but directed us to take a route which was outside, over cobble stones and through the ambulance parking area. Surely there was an internal route which would have made the journey in the chair much more comfortable with a broken leg?
No sign for fracture clinic outside i n the corridor.
I was put in ENT waiting area and not told it was also waiting area for A & E x rays.
I didn't have any food at the hospital but the staff were uniformly present.
