The visit was smooth and not too long
The care that I received during my stay was very inconsistent. Staff were either very good or should not be dealing with patients. And it was not divided by agency and non agency workers.
How can you have patient buzzers going off for 20 minutes while a group of nursers are just standing around chatting and laughing?
How many times do you have to ask for new urine bottles to be delivered and the filled ones removed? After three requests I just gave up.
Why are there no doctors available over the weekends? Nobody was able to make a decision on anything! Not even to give me a Strepsil! Patients need 7 day a week , 24 hour a day care and staff have to accept these hours.
Having said all this, I did receive a very thorough diagnosis, treatment plan and there were a number of staff who were amazing.
I arrived at 8am. Reception, Triage, X ray, Examination, Blood test, Results and diagnosis. Letter to my GP and prescription collected at the pharmacy. I was home by 12 o’clock. Excellent service, all the people that I dealt with were very professional. I can’t speak more highly for the service I received.

This was my first visit to Warwick Hospital , as a retired nurse I was impressed by all the staff I met and pleased at the standard of care .
Overall my experience was quite good, but this was not up to the previous high standards of my experiences in A&E. Was it a bad night for them, although it did’t seem exceptionally busy ? Nurses seem to struggle with equipment that didn’t work, I was left with a slight feeling that there was a desire to get me out that night ( a Sunday before strike action the following day……any connection ?). I was advised to see my GP as soon as possible the next day to make a request for an urgent appointment with the hospital for further investigation. ( Which I now have )I think an X-ray that night might have been informative,
Initially I overheard people talking about me which did not include an assessment. Luckily a dr saw me and identified symptoms that required a brain scan. After this point everything was handled ok.
My treatment was quick, I finally got the answers I didn’t receive at UCH.
Exceptional service - was seen , x-rayed & out within 2hrs which I thought was first class
