I was in a side room and this had not been cleaned after the previous occupant. Arrived on ward about 3pm. I was in 11 days - sheets on bed only changed 3 times, had to ask for one of them. Being in a side room and mobile and independent you seem to be left out. Doctors and nurses brilliant and the care and information given was very good. Lots of other niggly things like being missed on the drinks round and staff coming in in the middle of the night to empty bins and change water jugs meaning a disturbed sleep. Staff need more training on barrier nursing and the correct use of PPE.
