Underwent EVLA treatment for varicose veins. Returned to the clinic a year later as was very disappointed with the results. It was suggested I had vein embolisation, which I was told would sort my varicose veins. After undergoing this procedure at another great expense, was still not happy. Varicose veins still present and still have burning, itching sensation. Wish I had never started with this treatment as it has all just been a waste of money. Complained to the clinic and was told would have to pay for another consultation of £50 for a weekday appointment or £100 at the weekend. What a complete and utter rip off. Please save your money and avoid these money grabbers, I wish I had.

Response from Veincentre Stoke

I am really sorry that you have not been pleased with the results of the treatment that you had with us. I can assure you and other readers that we are the precise opposite of “money grabbers”. We provide the latest recognised and research proven treatments by specialists in vein treatment at the lowest price in the UK. We could charge far higher rates and often have been advised to do so as many are put off by the fact that we often quote half the cost of other clinics. The impression given to some is that we must be offering a lower quality service in some way whereas in reality we are one of the most experienced clinics in the UK and specialise in veins and veins only. Private medicine is by its nature expensive however and we do have to make some charge for our services. Your case was clearly more complex that most requiring embolisation in addition to EVLA. After this procedure it is usually necessary to undertake foam sclerotherapy or avulsions to get a good cosmetic result and often also to resolve symptoms. All patients are receive full explanation of charges of all treatments that will be needed and possibly required. Also they are informed fully about all possible side effects and likelihood of success. No Dr can provide an absolute guarantee of satisfaction but the vast majority of pour patients are delighted with the outcome of their treatment.
