I was admitted to Ward 12 at Trafford yesterday for removal of a large lipoma of my upper arm. I was so nervous about this surgery as it was going to leave a visible scar and possible dint. I arrived on the ward at 7am and was greeted by friendly informative staff. I found out I think about 9am that I would be going to theatre around 15.00hrs I saw the registrar, the consultant and the anaethetist who were all lovely which was reassuring. It was a long wait but I dozed on my bed and the time soon passed. A lovely lady came up from theatres to take me down and she couldn’t have been any kinder as by then I was really anxious. All the staff in theatres were so happy and smiley the scrub nurse told me she would look after me when i walked into the theatre (I wasn’t expecting that I was expecting to go into the anaesthetic room) The anaesthetic staff were amazing and right before I drifted off the lovely nurse asked about my lashes (I have lash extensions) and I asked could she put some gauze on before the tape and she did because when I woke up they were perfect. It may sound like a small thing but it really was nice of her to ask because I had meant to ask but I forgot. I woke up in recovery with some upper abdominal pain and wretched a bit but once back on the ward my nice nurse gave me some cyclizine and the lovely support worker (sorry I’m bad at remembering names) made me a nice piece of dry toast and a fresh jug of water and it soon settled. I went home at around 6pm feeling happy and relieved it was all over. Thank you so much to everyone who looked after me you were all amazing :)

Everyone took so much care to ensure that I felt comfortable and listened to. I was listened to and assured on every step of the way, and the surgical team was very efficient. It is the first hospital I’ve been to that I’ve been comfortable enough to fall asleep in due to the both friendly environment and level of care provided.

Visited the Park Unit (Endoscopy) on Thursday 27th February 2025. From entering the building I was treated kindly and given all the information i needed to reassure myself. The pre treatment nurse was amazing - the theater team were brilliant - and aftercare/recovery team were fantastic. The tea and toast hit the spot after a 36 hour fast! We has a mini fire evacuation after a kettle set on fire and the patients were looked after so well. We were brought extra blankets and my recovery nurse stayed by me all the time. Such a good team they should be proud of themselves. Excellent. The hospital was clean and easy to navigate.

I went to Trafford General Hospital on a number of occasions leading up to, and following my surgery which I had at North Manchester General. Trafford is a lovely hospital filled with kind and helpful staff. The hospital is relatively small compared to North Manchester, but is extremely well kept and easy to navigate. The staff here were brilliant with me, they were very respectful and kind. I was kept well informed about where to go and what the next steps would be for each visit. I would absolutely recommend this hospital to others.
