Review of Rapid Access Care Unit written by a family member
25th May 2017

Everything was outstanding. The care, compassion, friendliness towards my mum was faultless. They explained everything clearly, listened carefully an nothing was too much. Every member of staff ar RACU and Chillern Cart introduced themselves in a friendly way. The care was extremely thorough and nothing was too much. They showed great respect for mom doing everything.

All staff were very caring, kind and good humoured at all times. A friend from Australia was hugely impressed by the attitude. Communication between RACU downstairs reception could be much better. Downstairs had no record of my first appt. Perhaps a daily list could be sent down?

The care, help and kindness given. He felt he was so well looked after. Sadly to say he died this weekend at the Royal Berks Hospital.

Within half an hour of arriving at the RACU my father had got a diagnosis & began a course of treatment. The doctor did want to admit him but there were no free RACU beds so we came every day for IV antibiotics. Every visit was efficient & we were warmly welcomed. The staff take great care of all their patients & were always courteous. We would advise anyone to make use, if appropriate, of this wonderful unit.

Unable to comment on minor injuries unit as appointment was with RACU but we were well received at reception and very helpfully shown how to operate and given wheel-chair and shown to the RACU. I accompanied my wife who had the RACU appointment and I have filled this in as her behalf. The treatment was outstanding better than anything we have previously experienced, NHS or private!
