there were good and bad things about my experience at the sett. starting with the negatives- i did not feel very safe at the sett, I managed to cause myself some bad harm not only through self harming but through other bad habits (ligatures):( because I was left for lengthy amounts of time when I was suppose to be on 15 minuet observations. I also managed to bring contriband onto the ward that I harmed myself with (blade) even though they used a metal detector on me and searched me completely. Some of the patients on the ward managed to bring in mobile phones which TBH was pretty awesome as we took some great photos together;)! in which they also got searched but the staff didn't find the phones. The sett discharged me when I was really not ready:( although I told and convinced them that I was ready and wanted to go home I was still having incidents on a daily basis which I know I shouldn't have told them I was ready but I wanted to go home so that I could end my life:( well... they discharged me and like 2 weeks later I was re-admitted into hospital. Now the positives- Most of the staff were very confrontable and easy to talk to ESPECIALLY JACKI! she was awesome and she helped me so much during my long time at the sett! I was transferred from another unit to the sett and the staff made me feel so welcome and they were so reassuring! The activities were really good as a distraction and I learnt a lot of new ways to keep myself occupied! KATE! literally nothing bad I can say about her she is an absolute diamond! she has such a bubbly personality and she really knows how to make you smile when you are down, she also comes up with some great ideas for things to do and tbh some would say she's a little crazy but not in the slightest she's unique and such a genuine woman! I made some amazing new friends who I am glad to say I still have contact with and despite that we were all in a really bad mindset we got each other through the tough times and they are all amazing people! each and every one of them has a bright future without a doubt! AND.. one final thing the bedrooms are pretty good they are spacious and it is also an ensuite so you have your own privacy (if you have privacy). Thank you for the things you have done to help me and although most of you were very nice people I DO NOT want to see you again!

A full range of support was offered which was tailored to my son's particular needs. We have been kept well informed all throughout his stay. Top marks!

I wasn't fully safe and there were ways to heat the system but the sett aided my recovery.
