This form is unsuitable for carers to fill in As a carer, I feel totally left out of the loop. Yesterday, I phoned the MDU to ask if there was an appointment to attend and on hearing that there was, we made the enormous effort to come in, needing a chair to get my husband down the corridors to be told eventually that there was no treatment for him. I did feel angry and upset even though I'm actually understanding of how easily mistakes can be made and his appointment had been canceled due to the fact that my husband said he felt too exhausted to come in a second day,(unbeknown to myself), but because a nurse told me they had told me this information on the phone when I know that is not the case. Ideally, I think it would have been better to have been phoned by the Dr. to hear her estimation of my husband's present condition. Today, I spent an hour or so, trying to phone my GP and fortunately, then learnt that she had sent a referral for palliative end of life care assessment so I know help is on the way sometime in the future.....
