Review of Burdett Coutts written by a patient
4th March 2019

All the staff, with no exceptions, were as perfect as they could have been in every aspect. They displayed humour, care, enormous knowledge, and patience., beyond all expectations. I was also struck by the dedication and knowledge of Ellis and the other student nurse - such was their intense professionalism that only their introduction and uniform gave away their student position. Surely they deserve a bursary. My only negative point is that the food was singularly unpleasant and was not conducive to a good recovery. I don't expect special food, and I fully understand that it has to be to a low cost, but other hospitals food has always been fine.

Review of Clinical Assessment Unit written by a patient
28th February 2019

Due to my wound taking longer than expected to heal I had 3 day long visits to the CAU. All, and I mean all the staff I came in contact with were both highly professional and very caring. While they were very busy they never seemed flustered or too busy to answer your questions. A constructive suggestion is that the waiting area is far too small and while space is always in short supply I'm sure a rearrangement would provide a better experience. On 2 of my day visits I was under the care of Constantin Popescu and on both occasions he was very attentive, spent time in explaining the procedures and I felt very safe in his care. My sincere thanks to Constantin.

Review of Surgical Unit written by a patient

This has been my third time at this hospital. I can't go as far as to say 'I'm looking forward to surgery' but it definitely makes a huge difference to feel cared for at such a high standard. These are the things that I appreciate: Smiley faces. All the staff seems to be happy working here, and it transpires. Clean spaces. Regardless to where I look, calling included, the space looks Immaculate, which makes the patient feel safe. Privacy/dignity, personal space is very much respected. What would be improved? I've said it before, it feels a bit inconsistent at that the NHS pays out much attention to the diet. Cancer patients are well aware of the impact that nutrition has on our bodies.

Review of Ellis Ward written by a patient
27th February 2019

Attentive nurses. Handover excellent. Great communication among all nurses. Exceptional bedside manner. Nothing missing i my car. Thoughtful and could pre-empt safety risks ie asked me to shower before taking morning dose of cardiac meds. Was aware low blood pressure all through night and effects of anesthetic to BP. When I needed advice from the Dr on an unusual request, even though the dr had left the ward, "my" nurse promptly called to get an answer.
