I have been waiting for a follow up appointment with ENT, I was therefore surprised to receive a letter saying I had DNA an appointment and was being discharged, I was never informed of the appointment so it would have been impossible for me to attend. I did not receive any text reminder about this appointment ether which is quite strange as I receive text reminders about all my other appointments. I contacted central appointments and they said they would email the department. I have gone via PALS who have forward my email to 'AIRS' but I have had no response from any of them! I have had no option but to get my GP to refer me back to them and now have to wait all over again. It took over 18 months from my original referral to me being seen. How can it be acceptable that I have to wait again due to admin error in not informing me I had an appointment. The consultant I saw last time was brilliant and I could not fault him at all. Just the admin side of things makes it a very poor service!

Suggested improvements
Informing me I had an appointment would have made all the difference as I would have been able to attend if I was aware of it. Sending a reminder would have alerted me that I had an appointment. Not being able to contact anyone to sort this out is the most frustrating part! Now my record has a DNA which is unfair and I have to wait god know how many months to be seen
