There were a few blips beforehand, whereby I wasn't tested for MRSA at pre-op when I should have been. However, I was still able to have the procedure. The procedure itself went very well. I had a spinal anaesthetic, which I recommend, as recovery is faster, you wake up sooner and have absolutely no recollection of even going into theatre. The anaesthetist was lovely as I felt faint prior to anaesthetic and he was very reassuring and relaxed, even though I was possibly the last patient of the day. Of course Mr Ghosh was excellent and professional. He explained everything clearly during all consultations. A special thank you to the nurse who cared for me during the night post-OP. Her o lt other colleague on duty was occupied with a patient suffering with dementia, leaving 1 nurse to care for everybody else, which she did cheerfully. All staff were amazing-from the person who took me down to surgery, the medic who discovered MRSA debacle, the ladies who bought lunch and cleaned the ensuite. I have to say it felt like a mini break and I was loathe to leave
