I feel a lot of staff at the Queen Elizabeth  Hospital in Glasgow are acting in an unprofessional manner. On entering the main entrance I was astonished to see a nhs worker confidently strutting about like a proud peacock in theatre uniform, this including a face mask that was now dangling from neck and a head wrap, in full ready for op state. This person was chatting away drinking from a bottle of water in between obviously being proud .now I dare say the said person has a job they can be proud of but this is unprofessional and I'm afraid a sign of the times. So here I am, wondering what has happened to the doctors of yesteryear as I travel on through to the department I have to be seen. Thinking this is a one off I check in and take my seat. What I see  is another consultant in semi surgery outfit.. Normal trousers but top half he's ready for action (no mask or head gear this time tho).. This is ridiculous and wasn't a 5 minute thing he was there the whole time I was , this being some 20minutes,doing very little but chatting about news ,gossip etc while obviously trying to show how important he was as he was doing surgery earlier. This is not the way to act, the true professionals do not have to show how good they are or what they do. This is people in the hierarchy ..this behavior spreads like a virus and it's of no wonder this hospital has lots of problems. Set examples at the top and it filters down. I'd be very interested to see the success rates of such people.. True success rates not blurred figures. How many people get truly cured?yes there very good at talking about big operations and removing lumps etc but as for a cure,I think not .I also think that the standard of today's doctors etc fall far below what was once required. Inefficieny and unprofessional staff are the true enemies of the nhs and it's budget!!
