I underwent a 'Venaseal' procedure to both great saphenous veins in early April. This was primarily for cosmetic reasons but I was getting increasing problems with venous eczema that my GP was disinclined to treat beyond recommending stockings. This was particularly prevalent in hot weather or when I was doing a lot of walking. The reported outcomes for this procedure are good and it is less traumatic than laser. Performed under a local anaesthetic this was a painless process, indeed I had to check several times that something was actually happening! The staff and Mr Gajraj were great and I was totally confident in what was happening. Immediately post procedure was painless but the path of the veins treated did become rather uncomfortable/ tender 3-10 days post procedure, especially when standing after sitting or lying down. I supplemented the recommended paracetamol with ibrufen to manage this. Since the procedure to the cosmetic appearance of my legs has improved significantly- no sign of those wretched lumps! The real test for me was weather the venous eczema would occur when walking in heat. Have just got back from a break in Paris during which we really did pound the streets around the touristy bits- no problem at all- and I was able to wear shorts! Really very pleased with the procedure and my care. No hesitation in recommending 100%.
