I was thoroughly impressed with the care I received at the Mcindoe Centre. I stayed for one night after my surgery, and from start to finish I was treated with kindness and respect. Every person I spoke with, from hospital staff, Nurses, Anaesthesiologists (etc) were incredibly kind and made me feel safe. I felt like they were focused on my care and making me comfortable, and honestly they could not do enough for me. I was being checked in on and updated on my care regularly, and I could easily tell the high level of skill and expertise from all staff members. The Night Nurse even spoke with me about the books I had bought and about my life in general, which doesn't seem like much but meant a lot to me as I was in pain and feeling quite overwhelmed from my surgery. They definitely provide very person centred care. I was also impressed with the small details that make your stay slightly better, such as the comfort and food at Mcindoe. I was in a well equipped room with everything I could possibly need, my bed was comfortable, and my room was very quiet (which I was incredibly impressed with since I was right next to the operating theatre). The food there was delicious. Unfortunately after surgery I did not have a huge appetite, but the food I did eat was lovely and presented beautifully. The kitchen offered many options for food and had unlimited pots of tea and jugs of water. The kitchen staff were also very kind as I expressed that I didn't want to eat much and waste their food, and they adjusted accordingly, offering me alternatives where possible. I received the best care I have ever experienced at Mcindoe, and I could not recommend it enough.
